Episode 25: The Tape

April and Ashford discuss the Seinfeld episode the Tape.  This is the one where a woman left a sultry message on Jerry's tape recorder while he was performing his stand up.  After Jerry, George, and Kramer discover the true culprit, Elaine, the fellows are now looking at her in a whole new light.  And George is calling China for a hair cream that cures baldness.  That's right.  He's calling China!

Episode 86: Girls' Night Out

Mark and Ashford of Feathers and Foes really had a hard time wrapping their head around Birds of Prey 53 by writer Gilbert Hernandez and artist Casey Jones.  The Birds, Dinah and Barbara, go on Holiday, escaping their problems and enjoying some WELL DESERVED rest and relaxation.  This gives Hernandez a chance to stretch his muscle by writing a down to earth story where we, the readers, get a chance to see Dinah and Barbara interact face to face.
We also see how men are attracted to these two crime fighters, which at times becomes tired rather quickly.  Dinah is trying to understand her feelings with her Green Arrow situation and Barbara Gordon is trying to figure out things with Nightwing.  While all of this is happening, hash tag nice guy Tom comes into the picture.  Cue the emo music, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Episode 24: The Cafe

April and Ashford discuss The Cafe, which is a study in cringe worthy colonization.  OK, perhaps that is too strong, but Jerry going into a person's establishment, telling him that he has it all wrong and suggesting what the owner should do...is just a bit much.  Write to us your opinions of the The Cafe.

Episode 85: Reunions

Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 52 of Birds of Prey.  Black Canary is trying to assist Java in saving Sapphire and son, while the Oracle is battling a front at home, and it is uncomfortable as all get out.  The Birds of Prey have faced stronger threats, but with Black Canary having to be kind of on the side in her story, and Babes seemingly not being in control, this issue lends itself to being quite interesting.

Episode 19: Joker Cover

Issue 15 is beautifully illustrated, but just so chilling.  Batgirl is put to the test once again.  Can nurture out program nature?  This is not a quick fix.  This will take time.  Batgirl will struggle with this as she is faced with an inner battle while trying to save victims in Gotham.

Episode 18: The Batgirl: A Knight Alone

Cassandra Cain reached out to help a good man in a shady profession, for he displayed an act of kindness to a child whom was in harm's way.  Cass recognized this and wanted to save the man from sudden death by spiriting him away from his governmental captors with no Bat suit, leaving her identity exposed.  Good thing for Cassandra, she doesn't have an identity; however, facial recognition is still on the table, which leads Batman in rewarding Cass by giving the Daughter of Cain her own place to rest her head.

Episode 81: A Good Man Goes to War

Demons run when a good man goes to war.  Ashford loves that line so much.  Yes, Straight Outta Gallifrey is covering the Steven Moffat mid series 6 finale, A Good Man Goes to War.  Plots are unraveled and tightened at the same time.  Matt Smith is at his best in this episode, the pictures are pretty, and we get a feature by the wonderful Alex Kingston.  What's not to like?  Well, Ashford has some concerns, but he still believes this is one of the era's best episodes.  Siskoid from Siskoid's Blog of Geekery joins the discussion as well.  What do you think about A Good Man Goes to War?  Write to us at prydonian.post@gmail.com

Episode 17: Issue 13

Issue 13 of Batgirl not only starts off with a BANG, much like the cover, but it also has heart, hope, and heroism.  Cassandra Cain doesn't even don the Bat suit in this issue, but don't worry.  Cass is as awesome as ever.  And let us talk about Damion Scott's pencils.  Yes, Puckett captures Cass's voice, and yes, she is speaking now, but Damion Scott really gives life to this character and the landscape around her.  The story moves so fast because it is action packed, but not in a cheat type way.  Write to me at feathersandfoes@gmail.com about what you think of this issue.  We Cassandra Cain lovers need to stick together.

Episode 84: Let's Get Elemental

Writer Gilbert Hernandez and Artist Casey Jones are back for their second story, Let's Get Elemental.  The mystery is still unraveling in Black Canary's plot line.  For Oracle, things are getting quite harry as this guy who claims to be the Killer Moth has broken into the Clock Tower and has manage to tie Barbara up.
Listen to Laura, Mark, and Ashford discuss this issue.

Episode 80: The Sensorites

Joe Dredd, Siskoid, and Ashford discuss the Sensorites, featuring Susan Foreman, the Doctor's granddaughter.  In this particular story, a description of Gallifrey is given by Susan as well as this character displaying telepathy.  Susan really stands up for herself in this one, indicating to the Doctor that she is growing up and has the right to seek and possess her own agency.
