I'm a little late with this comment, but I only just found this via Twitter. Something I've wanted to say for some time about the Danny Pink storyline is that I think that Danny really only existed because the BBC was nervous about casting an older actor as the Doctor and they wanted a younger man on hand to be eye-candy for all the Tennant/Smith fangirls who were complaining so loudly about Capaldi's casting. Moffat simply didn't know what to do with him and no one could've predicted how much chemistry Jenna and Peter would have. The whole triangle will-she-won't-she stay with the Doctor dragged down the 8th season, IMO.
